Welcome
Welcome to Louie’s Helping Hands, a family-founded charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people with multi-sensory impairments and physical disabilities. We provide holistic, life-enhancing support that focuses on the whole child - emotionally, physically, socially and developmentally - through access to therapies such as horse riding, music, hydrotherapy and sensory-based activities. By offering specialist equipment, therapeutic opportunities and inclusive social experiences, we aim to build confidence, independence and brighter futures for every child we support, while also helping families feel less alone on their journey.
As a small charity, we rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of donations to continue our work. We are always open to new ideas, partnerships and opportunities, and warmly encourage anyone who would like to support us - whether through fundraising, volunteering or sharing ideas - to get in touch and be part of what we do!
Our Mission....
Our mission is to support children in Kent with multi-sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs, including those attending The Llewellyn School and Nursery and Maple Haven School. We are committed to helping each child reach their full potential by improving confidence, physical strength, independence, and social interaction. Through a nurturing and therapeutic environment, we enable children to build meaningful relationships and enjoy positive, enriching experiences.
Our Aim....
Our aim is to deliver high-quality, bespoke support that meets the complex and individual needs of every child. We work closely with The Llewellyn School and Maple Haven School to enhance the provision available, contributing towards specialist equipment, adapted facilities, and tailored therapeutic activities.
We strive to ensure that each child benefits from personalised 1:1 support, enabling achievable progress through a range of therapeutic opportunities, including hydrotherapy, horse riding, art, music, cooking therapy, and soft play. In addition, we extend our support more widely to children across Kent who may require assistance accessing specialist equipment to aid their physical development and independence.
Our Holistic Approach....
Our work is underpinned by a holistic approach that focuses on developing the whole child. We recognise that learning and development are shaped not only by physical progress, but also by emotional, social, and sensory experiences.
We aim to create environments where children feel safe, valued, and empowered to grow in confidence and independence. By encouraging interaction, exploration, and shared experiences, we support each child in finding meaning, enjoyment, and connection within their community. Our approach values collaboration, respect, and open communication, ensuring that every child’s unique needs and abilities are recognised and supported.
What Makes Us Different....
We provide a supportive and inclusive environment where children can access high-quality therapeutic support in small, friendly groups alongside their peers, while also benefiting from dedicated 1:1 assistance from highly trained staff.
Our facilities are designed to meet complex needs, including accessible, ground-level spaces, adapted environments, and dedicated medical areas. We support the use of specialist equipment such as bikes and walking frames, ensuring that all children can participate safely and comfortably in activities that promote their development.
In addition, we are committed to creating inclusive opportunities beyond the classroom. This includes organising accessible events and opening an inclusive playground, providing a safe and welcoming space where children with complex medical and physical needs can play, develop, and socialise with their families, carers, and friends.
